What a busy time of year this is. Everyone is 'wrapping the year up,' and preparing for the Holidays. There is no shortage of engagements leading to Christmas. As always, one of the things I want to do this time of year and seem to have 'little or no time for' is painting. On our way home from a very exciting weekend (Sunday, 9/26), Nancyjane Huehl and I stopped at the Wasta I90 East Rest Area to paint plein air. In the midst of kids, cats, dogs and 'flying-paint' the following spurted forth from the muck. Watching other artists play amongst Harvey Dunn this weekend gave me a real itch to dig-in (for more info. on the paint-in at the Dahl see previous posts).

November 5, 2010 Eastbank Art Gallery (an artists' coop in Sioux Falls, SD) will have postcard-size original artwork for sale by regional artists. A reception will be held the same day from 5:30 to 7:30pm. The sale/exhibit will last until November 27th. May of 2008 Christie's sold Lucian Freud's painting "Benefits Supervisor Sleeping" for approximately 34 million dollars.
